WLQM turned to SCA for help in generating revenue and increasing listenership. They chose to use SCA’s PrizeLink™, an instant-win digital game that captures data and increases sponsorship opportunities. Listeners waited to hear a code that allowed them to play a quick game and received immediate notification as to whether or not they won.
Objectives:

Strategies:
- Promote the contest through social media and the station Web site.
- Announce a Song of the Day keyword and post it on Facebook
- Invite listeners to enter the code, play a quick game, and find out immediately if they won.
Results:
- A listener won $10,000 and the station received great publicity.
- “We were shocked when we saw there was a winner. We immediately knew this would be a big PR opportunity for our station. This announcement would really help the station stand out because we are in a small market,” said a representative for WLQM.
- “This promotion enabled us to engage with our listeners. Throughout the day, we received calls asking when the Song of the Day would play and we noticed an increase in Facebook activity,” said the representative.
