Texas Lottery, SCA Promotions and Star Trek™ Join Forces
Since 1966, Star Trek has been a staple of American entertainment, from televisions shows, to movies, books and more. And now, the Texas Lottery is adding scratch-off tickets to the mix, in anticipation of Star Trek Into Darkness, which is set to release in theaters this May. The Star Trek instant ticket is a great way for fans to instantly win cash prizes, but with the help of SCA Promotions, there’s even more in store for dedicated “Trekkies.”
On March 30, the Texas Lottery will introduce the game with an out-of-this-world launch event at the Dallas Convention Center. The original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, will be present to scratch off a ceremonial Star Trek ticket. Guinness World Records will also be on hand, as fans attempt to shatter the record for largest gathering of Star Trek–outfitted attendees. The current record of 1,063 was set at the 2012 Destination Star Trek London. Setting a new record would help establish Dallas as one of the leading Star Trek communities and give celebration goers quite the story to tell.
In addition to appearing, there will be many prizes up for grabs, including the ability to purchase Star Trek scratch-off tickets before they go on sale to the public. But the two biggest prizes will help you to boldly go to the national Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas. One lucky fan will go home with a Star Trek convention package for two to the 2013 convention in Las Vegas. It includes airfare, spending cash and more.
But the best prize is saved for last: three fans will be chosen to play for a chance to win up to $50,000 each, for a total of $150,000. The contest and three $50,000 grand prizes are covered by SCA Promotions. The lucky contestants will be selected to try their hand at a custom Star Trek-themed Money Bags™ game. There will also be other Star Trek and lottery themed games added to the galactic thrill of the event.
The best part is that admission to this event is free as long as you’re dressed head to toe as your favorite crewman or woman, Klingon, or any other character from the Star Trek canon. An opportunity to set a new world record doesn’t happen every day, so do your part!
If you can’t make it to the Dallas Convention Center on March 30 for the celebration, be sure to visit your favorite Texas Lottery retailer to play the Star Trek game. You just might scratch off a winner. Visit the Texas Lottery’s site for more details about the tickets and the celebration.
