$75,000 Half-Court Shot — January 25, 2013
Carmex celebrated its 75th anniversary by launching the “Be a Half-Court Hero” sweepstakes — offering fans a trip to Miami and the chance to shoot for $75,000 at an NBA Heat game. SCA covered the full prize risk. Fan Michael Drysch was randomly selected from 30,000 attendees, stepped to center court, and sank the hook shot. LeBron James rushed the court and tackled him in celebration. The footage went instantly viral, airing on ESPN and national news for days. President Obama even referenced the moment during the Heat’s White House championship visit.
